In 1977 it dissociates from Working organization PAG and works alone as Working organization "Paška sirana" PAG.

History of the company - third millennium

On 2 September 2008 there was a ceremonial opening of the new "Paška sirana". In a two story building with a size of more than 1.800 square meters, we set up brand new, most modern equipment for milk and cheese production, cheese curdling… This is the first island plant that was built partly with the Pre Accession funds from the EU. Since the need for improving the conditions of the production in the old plant had existed for a long time, and since the investment to improve the old plant would have been very high, and in that time the Pre Accession funds from the EU were very popular in decision making for these kinds of investments, it was decided that the new plant would be built.

The prepared documentation was sent as part of the application to the SAPARD agency and non-refundable funds that amounted to 10 million kunas were approved. The construction of the new plant was a better choice in every case than the readjustment of the old plant that would require almost the same amount of financial funds, but could not ensure the modern needs in this food industry. In the blueprint documents, various necessary licenses and the construction of the new plant with the supply and installation of equipment, 30 million kunas was spent. The Pre Accession funds from the EU were not enough, but were certainly stimulative.

The production of cheese was increased by 30% which means 200 tons per year. The production lines are online from which one produces only Pag cheese and the other one produces the other kinds of cheese. All of it was a big investment in general, but the 600.000 Euros for the construction of the biological filter that is in accordance with the EU standards. Also, it is clear that the working conditions in the new plant are a lot better, and the all around standard has been raised to a much higher level.

Authorization number 2525 allows the export of "Paška sirana d.d." products into the countries that are members of the EU - approved by the solution Class: UP/I-322-03/09-01/443; registry log: 525-06-2-0263/09-3, dated 17 March 2009 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of the Republic of Croatia.
